Fruit of the Spirit Series – Part 3 of 9, Peace (Gal 5:22-23)
Last week, we continued with our discussion on the why it is so essential for Christians to have persistent joy, even during prevailing times. Tonight, we will continue with our Fruit of the Spirit series with Peace. Keep in mind, all of our Adult Bible Study lessons are ‘group-discussion’ focused and not ‘lecture-focused.’ So if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to share your thoughts with us. To know true peace is both to attain personal fulfillment and to enjoy full and healthy relationships with others. Ultimately, the true peace is found in God (; ; ; ). This is another major quality that we all need operating in our lives, especially with all of the uncertainty of this life and never knowing what is going to happen next. Jobs are no longer as secure as they used to be. You never know when the company you work for may be bought out and your job will be gone in a flash. Half of all marriages are still ending up in divorce. We tend to be constantly under the threat of future terrorist activities, never knowing when or where the next attack will come from, and the list of life’s struggles goes on. With all of this kind of heightened activity that we are all forced to deal with on a daily basis, it becomes very easy to lose your sense of peace, especially your peace in the Lord. Many of us have found that once His peace starts to flow up into our minds, souls, and emotions, it really is as the Bible says – a peace that surpasses all human understanding – especially when that peace comes in right in the middle of a severe storm cloud that you may be going through.
