The purpose of Sunday School is to congregate together to be taught, trained, and developed to reach others.  Moses the age leader said, "Gather the people together, men and women, and children and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear and that they may learn and fear the Lord your God and observe to do all the words of His law.  And that their children, which have not known anything, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it."Deuteronomy 31:12-13
The people to reach include men, women, children, and this extends to strangers or visitors.  We gather in Sunday School to reach people, to equip all that attend to be a better person and encourage us to do the same.  When we a reach a child, who is one of our priorities in Sunday School, we reach not only the child but also have the opportunity to reach his or her parents.
Sunday School is one of the most important times of the church because it provides us the opportunity to assemble together with our peers and openly explore the Word of God verse by verse.
