Word of Faith Christian Fellowship - "Man shall not live by bread alone..." Matthew 4:4
Johnny D. Banks, Jr., Senior Pastor
and
Sister Edith Banks, First Lady

Elder Johnny Banks and Sister Edith Banks became the founding presidents of Word of Faith Christian Fellowship, Inc. on September 17, 2003.  On Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Allendale YWCA in Shreveport, Louisiana, this ministry was born.

Pastor Banks has successfully served as a pastor, assistant pastor, evangelist, district secretary, Men's Department president and Young People Willing Workers president.

Sister Banks has successfully served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible study teacher, Usher Board president, Women's Department president and a mentor for young women.

Together they have one son, three daughters, four grandsons and four granddaughters.

Pastor Banks believes that:  "In these spiritually challenging times, the great need is for Christian leaders who are being spiritually formed in Christ to become spiritually discerning in understanding God's clarion call.  When that happens, God's unique will for their individual lives and in shared ministry with others is fulfilled."

It is out of the depth of one's soul, in alignment with God's call, that leaders and team members experience health and vitality in serving Christ and fulfilling His will.  When leaders and team members are in concert with God's divine planning for their individual lives and their shared ministries, there is increased joy and effectiveness.  As great commandment leaders (loving God with heart, soul, mind and strength), they become zealously attuned to fulfilling the great commission(serving for the purpose of discipling all nations in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost).

Our Vision is to see Christian leaders and team members transformed by a lifestyle of spiritual formation and discernment, resulting in depth of spiritual insight and vitality in God's service.

Our Mission is to encourage the spiritual formation of leaders and equip the congregation to discern God's unique will for their life and ministry.
